Equine Studies
*Studying response to anesthesia options for elective procedures
We are enrolling any healthy horse undergoing general anesthesia for elective surgery to compare the effects of oral trazodone as part of the anesthetic protocol. This study will help understand the effect of oral trazodone and make general anesthesia safer for horses in the future. There are 3 different treatment groups, including a placebo group. Your horse will be randomly assigned to one group.
Your participation is voluntary and there is no cost to enroll. You will receive a $100 credit off your bill and up to 2 additional nights of stall boarding in the hospital, if needed.
