The Special Species service at UW Veterinary Care has veterinarians who have years of experience and board certification in working with turtles, tortoises, snakes and many varieties of lizards including bearded dragons, geckos, and iguanas. Our Special Species Health Service provides general and advanced care for these pets, including:

• Routine wellness exams
• Diagnostic imaging including digital x-rays, whole body CT scans and ultrasound
• Management of reproductive disorders such as egg binding
• Advanced surgical procedures such as: key-hole surgery via endoscopy or laparoscopy, endoscopic guided urinary bladder stone removal in tortoises, and minimally invasive surgery of the reproductive tract in turtles and tortoises
