UW Veterinary Care deeply appreciates and values the opportunity to work with, and provide service to, Wisconsin’s law enforcement animal officers. We are here to support you and your operational canine and equine officers with dedicated care and attention.
Exclusive Discounts for Law Enforcement Animals
We are pleased to offer 50% off services provided at UWVC for active law enforcement animals in Wisconsin. To receive this discount, your agency needs to have a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on file. Please contact UW Veterinary Care for more details and to ensure your MOU is in place.
For agencies in Dane County, we offer an additional benefit. We provide $5,000 of free care plus 50% off any costs over $5,000 in a year. This is also contingent on having an MOU on file.
Additionally, we offer a 20% discount for active law enforcement animal officers from outside Wisconsin.
Dedicated Line for Law Enforcement Animal Officers
To further streamline our services, we have created a dedicated line for law enforcement animal officers: 608-264-2000. We ask that your handler or departmental official clearly identify that you are calling on behalf of an operational canine or equine officer. The team member who takes your call will assist you in determining the best way to provide service to your animal officer.
Emergent Situations
In emergent situations, the call will be transferred to the appropriate care team to assess the animal officer’s medical needs as well as the hospital’s ability to provide the animal officer with the necessary care, based on current available hospital space and staffing. In the event that UWVC is limited by staff availability or hospital space, and we cannot provide care in a timely manner, our team will help identify alternative resources for care.
