What to Expect
We understand that the prospect of surgery can be a scary thing, so our compassionate team of horse veterinarians and staff will guide you through every step, starting with a full pre-surgical workup of your animal. This may be very limited or very extensive depending on what has been previously performed. Following this assessment, we will review the procedure and any associated risks with you in detail. At this point, you will also receive a cost estimate, and 50 percent of the lower part of the estimate should be left as a down payment.
- The day before surgery: Your animal will be admitted and stay overnight in preparation for the procedure.
- The day of surgery: Your animal will again stay overnight, this time for post-surgical observation.
- The day after surgery: If there are no complications, you should be able to pick up your animal at this point.
- Every day: While your animal is staying with us, you can expect to hear from us at least once per day with updates.
Payment Information
We understand that paying for your animal’s medical needs can be stressful. Your animal deserves the best care, and we have various payment options so your focus can be on getting your animal healthy.
Entrance and Parking for Trailers
After you arrive, please contact one of our staff if they are not immediately present to greet you, so that we may unload your animal from your trailer.
If it is helpful for you to leave your trailer here while your animal is an inpatient, you may use our dedicated parking stalls. Learn more about this option from our staff.
