Large Animal Hospital

The Morrie Waud Large Animal Hospital provides a wide range of specialty services. Our expert veterinarians specialize in medical and surgical care for all large animal species including:

  • Horses
  • Cattle
  • Alpacas
  • Llamas
  • Pigs
  • Sheep
  • Goats

We are uniquely equipped to care for these large animals with custom housing and full on-site facilities, as well as board-certified veterinary specialists who have undergone rigorous training in large animal internal medicine, large animal surgery, large animal emergency and critical care, and large animal sports medicine.

In addition to offering scheduled appointments to perform therapeutic farrier work, elective surgeries, and diagnostic evaluations for lameness or medical problems, our veterinary team is here to provide emergency care.

Due to construction and remodels, we are unable to perform routine lameness evaluations on horses until construction of the LA arena is completed. We are still available for emergent, severe lameness evaluation.

If your horse, livestock or other large animal is in need of emergency veterinary care and you can safely call ahead, please do so. We don't require you to call before arriving, but it helps us prepare for your arrival. Any other visit type beyond an emergency does require an appointment.
