Large Animal Reproduction (Theriogenology)

The theriogenology section provides a broad array of reproductive services for large animals (cattle, horses, pigs and small ruminants, including New World camelids). Our reproduction management program covers everything from breeding to pregnancy diagnosis and assistance with problem deliveries (dystocia). We offer a referral service for diagnosis and treatment of reproductive disorders for either individual animals or groups of animals.

Complete breeding management, including:

• Pre-breeding examination (breeding soundness examination)
• Ovulation timing (mare)
• Semen collection and evaluation (male breeding soundness examination)
• Artificial insemination

Pregnancy and delivery management

• Pregnancy diagnosis
• Twin pregnancy management (mare)
• Monitoring for fetal viability and management of the high-risk pregnancy
• Obstetrical assistance for cases of dystocia (difficult birth)
• Caesarian section

Diagnosis and treatment of genital disease
