Whether your exotic animal needs a wellness checkup or specialized surgery, you can rest assured that our dedicated Special Species Health Service has the expertise and latest technologies to treat your unique pet. In fact, our patients have access to Wisconsin’s only board-certified non-domestic zoological medicine specialist for exotic pets.
From birds and rabbits to rodents and reptiles, our exotic animal veterinarians provide a variety of services on a nonreferral or referral basis, including:
General veterinary care for all exotic pets
- Annual wellness visits and new pet exams
- Diet, husbandry and behavioral consultations
- Routine, specialty and emergency care
- Hospitalization and treatments performed in dedicated wards
Advanced specialty carefor all exotic pets and zoo animals
- The safest sedation, anesthesia and analgesia protocols
- Diagnostic imaging (X-rays, ultrasound, CT and MRI scans)
- Endoscopy (key-hole procedures)
- In-house pathology and laboratory testing, including blood lead testing
- Collaboration with other veterinary specialty services in the hospital (cardiology, dentistry, neurology, oncology, ophthalmology, surgery)
