If your pet requires soft tissue surgery, you can count on the expertise of the nation’s leading surgeons at UW Veterinary Care.

The faculty and residents of the Soft Tissue Surgery team work together to develop the best possible treatment plan for your pet. In addition, our surgical team works closely with in-house experts in anesthesiology, radiology, oncology, internal medicine and critical care to develop and deliver the most comprehensive care for your pet.

Our surgical services range from the routine to complex with examples including:

  • Spays and neuters
  • Laparoscopic ovariectomy
  • Cardiac pacemaker implantation
  • Portosystemic shunt ligation
  • Splenectomy
  • Kidney transplantation
  • Gastric dilatation volvulous
  • Intestinal foreign body removal
  • Urinary bladder stone removal
  • Laparoscopic gastropexy
  • Lung tumor removal
  • Wound reconstruction
  • Laryngeal paralysis treatment
  • Ureteral and tracheal stenting

Should it be necessary, postoperative care is available in our critical care unit that is fully staffed 24/7 by the compassionate doctors and staff your pet needs to recover as fast as possible.

The Soft Tissue Surgery team performs elective procedures on Mondays, sees referral appointments on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and performs surgery on Wednesdays and Fridays. However, we are always available for emergencies and are able to alter our schedule as necessary.
