Neurology Service
Like people, pets suffer from neurologic diseases affecting the brain, spinal cord and neuromuscular system. At the UW-Madison Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital, the neurology service provides such animals with diagnosis, therapy, surgery and emergency care. Common presenting complaints in our patients include seizures, disorientation, imbalance, weakness or paralysis. The neurology team consists of a board certified neurologist, 2 specialty trained neurology clinicians, a neurology technician and a resident. We see dogs and cats as appointments and consult with other veterinarians on exotic animals, food animal, horses, and laboratory animals.
