Primary Care Service

Our Primary Care service offers routine preventative medicine (including vaccines) as well as treatment of acute and chronic illnesses.  We also provide continued care for animals with chronic health problems such as chronic renal failure, diabetes, and hyper/hypothyroidism.

A fourth year veterinary student and a veterinarian will give your pet extra attention during your 30 minute-1 hour appointment.  Along with the pet’s physical exam, the owner will be educated on pet nutrition, dental care, behavior and training.  Emergency service is also available for urgent concerns, and are handled promptly or referred to another appropriate service that the Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital offers.
