Equine and Camelid Orthopedic Surgical Services

UW Veterinary Care has the specialists and support services your large animal needs when facing orthopedic surgery.

Our three highly experienced board-certified surgeons commonly treat wounds and traumatic injuries that affect the bone or joint, including fractures and joint infections that require care on an emergency basis. We use the very latest fracture repair equipment, the very same that would be used on a human patient. We are also prepared to provide elective services to patients, including bone chip removal and treatment of growth defects. UWVC orthopedic surgeons are trained in the latest treatments and technologies, and are ready to provide the unique care that large animals need to get back on their feet. All of our patients undergoing anesthesia are also under the direct care of a board-certified anesthesiologist.

The large animal orthopedic team accepts patients with or without a referral. Animals that require emergency care may be admitted and examined at any time, day or night. If surgery is required, our facilities and 24/7 nursing staff provide compassionate, expert care for your horse or camelid.

The UWVC orthopedic surgical team works together to provide the best possible care for your animal:
