Equine Internal Medicine
UWVC Large Animal Internal Medicine offers primary, referral and consultative services for equine patients. We are also prepared to treat emergency and intensive care cases 24-hours a day, 7 days a week. Together, we are able to diagnose and manage a wide range of health issues in horses, including:
- Colic
- Respiratory disease
- Diarrhea
- Weight loss
- Neurological problems
- Heart murmurs
- Cardiac arrhythmias
- Exercise intolerance
- Nose bleeds
- Swellings, infections and bleeding problems
- Edema
- Urinary tract problems
- Skin conditions
Additionally, our experts are supported by the latest diagnostic and treatment tools, including:
- On-site clinical laboratories for blood tests, microbiology cultures and infectious disease testing
- Imaging services, including high-resolution digital radiography, ultrasound, and nuclear medicine scans
- Full body sling and padded stalls for neurologic or injured horses
