Critical Care Unit

When animals are in serious condition, 24-hour critical care service is available. Animals may stay in Critical Care both before and after surgery, as necessary. Certified veterinary technicians are on duty 24 hours per day to monitor and care for patients in the unit. Whether an animal needs fluids, round-the-clock medication, or other services, personnel are available to provide necessary care.

	Heart failure Respiratory failure Injury/trauma Chronic disease (including diabetes, kidney disease, and cancer) Postoperative management Nutritional support Blood transfusion

Special Equipment and Procedures
Electrocardiogram (ECG) Monitors to measure an animal's heart rate and rhythm. Blood Gas Analyzer Pulse Oximeter to measure oxygen saturation in animals with respiratory problems Intravenous Fluids and Medication Oxygen Cage Assisted and Controlled Ventilation Glucose Meter
